Pastor Stanimir Tanev was born in Sliven, Bulgaria. At age eleven he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. After several years of spiritual growing in his hometown church, he dedicated his life to serving the Gospel. God revealed to him the power of worship through music and he began traveling around the country with a small music group.
In June 1991, Pastor Stan was invited to study worship and missions at Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas. After graduating, he continued his education at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas.
At the beginning of 1995, Pastor Stan was invited to work with the Bulgarian immigrants in Chicago. Upon arriving there, he began hard work with a small group of Christians, and in the fall of 1996 the first Bulgarian Evangelical church was registered in the Chicago suburb of Des Plaines, IL, headed by Pastor Stanimir Tanev. Currently, he is an associate pastor of Bulgarian Evangelical Church New Life.
Pastor Stan is married to Vania with whom he shares two wonderful children – gifts from God – Nicole and Daniel. They live in Des Plaines, IL.
