Then you are more than welcome to join us on Saturday, February 06, at 6:30 pm
Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their work:
If one falls down, his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NIV)

Bible Possibly Written Centuries Earlier

Scientists have discovered the earliest known Hebrew writing – an inscription dating from the 10th century B.C., during the period of King David’s reign.
The breakthrough could mean that portions of the Bible were written centuries earlier than previously thought. (The Bible’s Old Testament is thought to have been first written down in an ancient form of Hebrew.)

A Message from the Pastor:
I am writing to you on behalf of New Life Bulgarian Church in Chicago.
Since 1996, New Life Church has served hundreds of Bulgarian immigrants in the Chicago area with Bible teaching, words of encouragement, and a place of worship in their native language.
This summer, the church submitted architectural plans for a $600,000 expansion of the current building. All the plans were approved and the city of Des Plaines granted us building permission in November 2009.
Our desire is to begin the construction of the new 250 seat building this coming spring (April 2010) and for this purpose the funds should be raised and available by early 2010.
Our congregation has already raised over $80,000 in the past four months as $30,000 were already invested in the project. We need at least $220,000 more before we can secure a bank loan for the remaining amount. While we know that most organizations could not support a gift of that size, smaller gifts, offerings, and monthly support commitments will help us reach the ultimate goal of getting the project off the ground.
The current building was purchased twelve years ago and we can now proudly share the fact that it is full and we are in need of additional space. Starting with just a couple of families, the church is now attended by over 120 believers. As the first step toward our growing need, last year we purchased the property adjacent to the current church building. It allowed us to expand our youth activities, start a Bulgarian Language School, and add additional parking space. However, the challenge and the immediate need for a larger sanctuary and more classrooms remains.
The vision of the church is to reach for the Gospel the largest Bulgarian community outside of Bulgaria. Approximately 75,000 Bulgarians live in the Greater Chicago area. The vast majority of those immigrants have never attended a church nor have they ever heard the Gospel. Many others have significant personal, medical, financial and spiritual challenges and nor do they have the sufficient English speaking skills to find refuge at a local American church. We believe that a beacon for the Bulgarian community is needed in Chicago, which will provide a spiritual home and community, which Bulgarians can join.
As we reach more people, the need for meeting space becomes a pressing necessity. In a time of recession and financial instability, we continue to live our vision to reach the unsaved as we continue to increase our missionary support and fellow church donations. We believe that God will bless the giving church and the generous heart He has given us by providing for His church in His time and in His way. As we will continue to walk in faith, we ask you to join us in the work that God is doing through us in the Bulgarian community in Chicago and share in His blessings.

May God bless you abundanly!
